I am really sad to say I have only met small amount of nice hard-working Scottish people. Most of the people I have met in these 3 years are shallow, unintelligent and lazy. The weirdest part is, this is accepted in society.
Some examples to make my point :
Year 1.
TASK: Pick a European Country to make a report on.
Scottish girl: Can I take Tokyo?
TASK: Calculating percentages.
Scottish Teacher: "Merit 37, 5% is not a write answer. It has to be %38"
Merit:" I know, but if you calculate using 1 number after point, this is the answer."
Scottish Teacher: "Yes, I know that if you use real mathematic things, but this is not what is on my paper, so you have to calculate like everyone else so the answer comes same with my paper. "
PROBLE: Someone from the staff is stealing in the store I work. (JJBSport)
RESULT: Scottish guy, because he got hungry at work.(He stole Rangers chocolate balls)
Scottish: Hei. You are not from here, are you?
Merit: Nop, I’m from Estonia
Scottish 1: Wow, How come Russian women are always so pretty?
Scottish 2: Do you speak Polish then?
Scottish 3: Near Serbia, Romania etc?
Year 2
Scottish women (responsible of international students): Gossip gossip gossip
You go there to get a paper or etc. She always asks you about other people and tells you about students she does not like.
*** has not been college for ages. **** and his attitude. He cannot behave at all. You should not communicated with these students they are bad influence. Their results are under any acceptance, etc.
This should be a professional person. Just under the headmaster in Adam Smith College. Would not recommend that college if you are from Estonia. The level is relatively low.
Year 3
Scottish Girl: They are, There, Their, They`re are not all written the same way? I though you write all THERE?
UK: Primary education is falling in some schools. At the age of 11 children cannot still read and write on normal level. (Sky news)
Scottish guy : If you say out that someone is lazy, even if he is this is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
HOTEL: There were 36 people for dinner. For cleaning up and resetting one table of eight Scottish guy took as long as the other non Scottish guy to clean and reset all the other tables.
Scottish Guy: The pay me minimum I work with minimum effort.
Scottish women puts up the sign in Thistle Aberdeen: " One of you Merit or *** were working. The customer complaint was: blaa blaa blaa...... This IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
I go for the supervisor (Scottish GUY): It was not me. Why is this sign up?
The GUY: THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. It will go under internal investigation. This is bullying. You will be probably fired.
(Why? Because you actually say it out what everyone is talking about. But this is not accepted in Thistle Aberdeen Altens. You have to be hypocritical in that place. Remember it is THISTLE. Although owned by Asians, which does not make sense.
Thistle managers: To Hard- working Scottish GUY : “You are fired, because you do not fit into the team. “ (Everyone I know did not have problem with that guy and some of the people were even sad that he had to leave)
(Why? Because you stand up for yourself and talk out when there is problem. In Altens only gossip is accepted. )
Oke. This post came quite negative one. There are some good things about Scotland as well. Furthermore because there is such a small amount of nice Scottish people they shine :D
I will write my next post about good things in Scotland.
I have visited many countries, but I think UK is not very nice place to stay.
It is not only because of the people, but the rules, the houses, the mentality is just too much different from mainland Europe. UK is closer to USA than Europe.
