Little Things!
"Merit Merit Merit See what I bought!"
Sometimes very simple things can make us happy and excited.
"I can put this hat on my phone"
PS. It wasn´t my little borther who talked like this. You can guess twice who could be so happy about little smoothie with a Christmas hat.

Depressive Fog!
I woke up, open the eyes and think hmm it must be early.
It looks cold outside. Everything is foggy. Extremly foggy.
For my surpise it is not early at all. It was 12.00.
This weather makes my mood a bit depressive, so I decided to go cycling with Liesbeth.
One and half hours outside - That was enough fresh air for me.
Enjoy the cold and freezing weather.!
Yes I do live in the countryside:)

The language of math
The language of math is not same in every country.
Discovery of the day!
Discovery of the day!
Danish people use this sign ÷ for subtraction
and : for dividing.
To illustrate :
12 ÷ 3 = 9
12 : 3 = 4

Jana Kask
Found something nice. She was just 17 when she sang here. Amazing. (Winner of Estonia is looking for superstar 2008, bit like x-factor.)

We're cruizin' to Helsinki
First of all, let me in introduce you to my buddy, the seagull...
This little seagull is kinda half as big, as his Scottish friend, but twice as aggressive/funny. Why?
Well, on our holiday in Estonia we got a ticket from Sirle, so we could visit Helsinki travelling by a cruize ship.
That's when we first met him. Loud and annoying, but we didn't know his special power yet, which was stealing ice cream...
Tallinn and me, I love the old town... (:
It was a beatiful day, nice and sunny, so we decided to have a little sunbath on the deck, but first, I had to put some hairgel on, cuz who wants to have a sunbath without the perfect hairstyle? :P It didn't really work, and somebody kept laughing at me, while I was trying to save it somehow.
After the job done, and after a pleasant photoshoot for the next fashion magazine...
We finally got to the point of getting brown (or in Merit's case, red). Beware, explicit picture... :P By the way, police-type sunglassses rule!
I should start to describe our visit in Helsinki, which was mostly shopping, new white shorts for me and a nice skirt for Merit. I think there was something else as well, but I don't remember... Cardigan? Hmmm...
Anyways, try find the bus on the picture... (: I know, my head's too big.
I love how we walked around the town, here and in Tallinn as well, I was like:
- This looks nice, what's that?
My genious tourg guide gave me a simple answer:
- A buliding. :P
But I was the same when we visited Budapest, so I should probably shut up... xD
So we had a nice walk around the town, weather still fine, so we decided to buy ice-cream, and that's when our seagull came into play.
The merchant told us, that we should protect our ice-cream, because the seagulls try to get it, so she gave us a few more napkins to cover it. I didn't care, I quickly ate my ice-cream, but Merit... She was eating it nice and slowly, when suddenly she had nothing to eat any more. Those little bastards hit it right out of her hands and started to eat it on the ground. I was laughing... For some reason, they weren't satisfied, or maybe they thought that Merit's head is a big cone of ice-cream as well, because they started to attack her. I'll be honest, I should have been a big hero, and protect her, but... Well... I was laughing. There's nothing to worry about, she survived, but since then, she hates seagulls.
After getting some more sun, it became a bit colder, so Merit tried to pose with my jacket, so this is another picture for that fashion magazine I mentioned before. (:
I think it's an awesome picture! :P
On the other hand, I was too busy playing around with my phone, so I'm not sure this will make it for the magazine, we'll see... ;)
Heading back to the cruize ship I have to say we had quite an amazing day. To have a perfect ending, we were watching the sunset... (:
Simply beautiful...

Holidays in Estonia
I have just remembered I have not written much about my SUMMER times. I need to correct this mistake, don´t you think?
Me and Chris went on a holiday to Estonia. During this 2 weeks holiday which ended up to be 4 weeks. (I explain it later on) we visited Helsinki, Vienna and Budapest.
We flied from Edinburgh to Tallinn. My mum and brother picked us up from the airport. We had been travelling the whole day so we just had a meal in the flat and then straight to bed.
The next days the weather was not that nice. It was raining and foggy. We ended up staying quite a lot inside.
We went to Merle’s new flat with Sten and played this couples game. The point of the game was that there were two different words and you had to pick one. You got a point if you and your partner both picked the same one. The whole night was great, we spoke most of the time English and ended up drinking all Merle’s last alcohol saving. (And hell yea she had lot).
We also spent lot of time with my family. Mainly my 2 brothers were talking to Chris as they can speak English better than my parents. Kert and Chris got along very well. Check yourself:
The first week we mainly drove along Estonia/Tallinn and visited my relatives. Poor Chris. He tried to pretend that he is OK with it, but I could see he wasn´t fan of meeting random people who does not speak English. AT least the weather was getting better again. (25C) We went to beach and swimming a lot as well. The water was cold though. Not as cold as in Scoltand.*
This picture is done in Rakvere. Nice little city. My best friend is form near Rakvere.
We were quite often goingt to my aunt Tiina’s place. Her husband Neeme speaks great English and is very talkative. I think this was the only place Chris actually liked to be. What is more they have such a cute baby.
This is my little cousin. Chris decided to take care of her when she started to cry and everyone else were preparing for barbeque.
In the evening times when we decided to get some extreme in our life we went to roller-skating or skateboarding. Chris was actually pretty good at it. I was, well I managed to stay on it.
See here is the proof!
GO!!!!!
We also went to see 30 second to mars, which was meant to be the highlight of our holidays. It was also the main reason why we decided to go to Estonia. They played in Lauluväljak, there was lot of people and was genially a nice concert. The only big BUT was that they did not play our song. Let me explain you, quite beginning of our relationship somehow we just decided that 30 second of mars "story" acoustic version is our song. Concert was Little tiny disappointment.
Lauluväljak "30 secends to Mars"
I have this song up in this blog aready, but just in case you are not regurar reader and do not this band. Here you go:
Our next week we spent quite a lot of time in countryside. We visited my other aunt. She has lovely little girl as well who decided that she likes my glasses. SO we were cool together.
The other most important day of our holiday was Jaanipäev. (It is traditional Estonian day for celebrating the longest day of the year. We make a bonfire, barbeque, drink, play games and lot of other things. Usually outside of the town)
The main keywords from Jaanipäev:
The lake Peipsi
Naked boys running between Sauna and the lake
Alcohol
Barbequing
Friends
Furthermore I heard everyone liked Chris and thought we are "cute" couple and defiantly suit. What else would you want than approval from your friends? Even my circus friends liked him. Thumbs up!

Nice lake? I love these 2 pictures. I so would like to be part time photgrapher :)
This is kind of summed up part of our Estonia visit. But our holiday did not end with that. I’ll tell you soon about Helsinki, Vienna and Hungary, with amazing pictures to illustrate my point.Saturday, 27 August 2011

Discovery of the day!
I went in a supermarket. You know the type of Aldi, Lidl. ect. (Eesti mõistes säästumarket) I was just in a queue for tills when something went wrong and that supervisor had to come to open the tills again.
Do you know how to open a till? Usually you have the management card, but no...in Denmark you need to give finger prints.
Go technology!

A new start...
For some weird reason I can write on this blog, hopefully I won't destroy the quality that much... :P
Anyways, work problems solved! Got a new place in Hilton Treetops, and I'm about to start in a few hours. A bit nervous, but it's a hotel, I know what to do. Or at least I think I know... (:
To celebrate my new job I bought a bicycle, however putting it together takes some time, so probably I'll take the bus today. And I didn't want to look lazy beside Merit, who's on a bike every day. :P We would go out cycling together, and I'll die on the first few miles, naaah, I don't want that.
Well, be prepared, my life's not that amazing as my love's life, but! I try. I mean I don't do badminton, but I gonna start breakdancing soon (if I get hold of that aberdeen university guy), and I don't go to uni, just work (which is, to be honest, pretty boring). We'll see... ;)
I'm happy to write here, so this blog's gonna be written in English, Estonian AND Hungarian (we'll discuss the German parts....).
To be precise, a mainly English written blog, with an Estonian and Hungarian writer, about Denmark and Scotland... :P For now. ;)

First Words in Danish
Today I had my first Danish lesson. It is fun.
The teacher is young and energetic women. She makes the class fun.
Language itself, on the other hand, is hard and does not make any sense at all.
The best examples are:
Hej. [Hai] - Hello
Hej Hej - Bye, bye
God morgan read [go mor] everyone knows what that means.
Jeg hadder Merit. [Ja hallger] Well this is most complicated word I know. Hadder you say it like ll but not really.
Danish people make funny sounds. It is not the prettiest languages in the world.
It has lots of different words from different languages, mainly form German, but they say them differently even if they write it same way.

New Week with a new POWER!
Yesterday in university we worked on Adobe Illustrator. It was good fun, but after 3 hours staring the computer screen the world around you felt blurry. After lunch we had to carry on with this, despite I’m loving it my eyes could not stand it. 8.20-14.30 behind the computer, working is too much for me. How the IT people do it?
The program itself is good fun. I can make all kind of clothes with it and put different patterns in my design etc. At the beginning it was a bit confusing but if I manage to get hand of it I really did enjoy it. May be I add here the examples I made later, when I get them from my university´s computer. I do not have usb, because I forgot it to Scotland, but as I found out of my extremely smart boyfriend I can use my phone as usb..:)
After that I went back to the flat and ate some pasta. Cheap and fast.
In the evening I decided to go to look for the place where tomorrow I meant to have trials for badminton team. Knowing me and my intuitions not to follow guidelines I decided to take a “shortcut" and get lost. I travelled around Herning about over an hour before I by accident found a place. SO the way back I fallowed the gridlines and it took me 20min. Then small talk with Chris and bedtime :)
Today early start in university again. This time we went for a field trip. Fun, fun fun.
We went to State of Art Scandinavian showroom. It is a men´s clothing brand, who does causal wear and also have 2 special additions for a bit younger market, which is inspired by race in Italy. Have look : http://www.stateofart.com/
I do not like the brand style that much, but the story they have and the marketing with their propose is very attractive.
The 2 people in showroom were very good sales people. They know a lot and explain the feeling etc very well. Cool.
On the way back the bus driver decided to make a small wrong turn and we ended up in a very small countryside road going zik-zak up and down the hill. It was little bit scary as the road was very narrow and there is no chance that 2 cars could get past each other. Luckily we did not meet any cars.
The countryside looks really like South Estonia- Small hills, cows, fields, forest. The main difference was that the houses looked very pretty and renovated.
After we got back we went for trend lab. I think this is my favourite place from now on. It has all the fashion forecasting books for next seasons etc. Teko students can go there for free. Yeee
About 14.00 I discovered I haven´t eaten anything except from a banana, so I went to flat. Ate another banana (we decided with Chris we don´t eat normal food until we move back together) and went to bed. Half an hour later Chris texted me. I didn´t answer, cause I was a SLEEP. He decided it is time to me to wake up so he skyped:) Actually it was nice to talk to him. Our rotas do not match at all. He starts the work around the time I finish uni and I go to uni when he sleeps. :(
At 18.30 I went for my trial. I was so nervous. I really cannot remember the last time I have been so nervous. The stomach is crazy, hand shaking etc. I arrived in the place 30 min before. I decided to walk around the hall for 10 min and then went in.
Everything was SUPER. I got in the team and the Danish people are very nice. (I heard stories that they are closed and do not want to know anything about anyone) I guess it is just different with badminton people then.
SO the training started at 19.30 and lasted till 21.30. I was dead. I mean I still am. It was so hard. After first 30 min I thought I am dying. It was good fun though. The coach said that yesI my endurance is less than other girls, but it is ok, as my technique is good, which matters. Let’s train and you will get your fitness back as well.
I am looking forward for Thursday, not looking forward for tomorrow and sour legs.
Anyway the weather decided to change after the training. So I cycled with heavy rain for 20 min. You could image how I looked like when I arrived back to flat. Not so dry.
I need to buy a better lamp, because the one is bought from "Tiger"( the cheapest place u get all weird things) is not very useful as I don´t see anything. It would be OK on main streets, but I take couple of side streets with no lighting. The other problem is I am bit worried that one of the roads goes between forest so is it really ok to cycle there alone? On the other hand I haven´t heard anyone saying that Herning is dangerous or etc.
Well, I will decide on this matter later. Now, I need to go to sleep.

Herning
I thought I will show you the picture of the place I live.
These photos are not done by me, because my camera doesn´t work at the moment.
See maja näeb välja nagu viljakuivati vms. Midagi, mille leiad keset põldu :)
Samas seest on täitsa OK. Only if there is wind, you can feel the house swinging, bit scary.
Two floors are together. I live on 10/11. There is 4 bathrooms and 1 kitchen for the 2 floors. There is 12 people there all together. Most of us is TEKO Erasmus students, so it is actually fun.
So this is the groups of girls who are ERASMUS students in TEKO. (Estonian, Scottish, Enlgish, Belgium, Dutch, Polish) There is 19 of us, some ofthe people are missing from the photo as you can see.
Danish language is funny.
Facts about Denmark.
Drink and drive (bicycles) is OK "You have to get home somehow after the party"
Drink and take someone else’s bicycle is OK " "You have to get home somehow after the party"
Although I wouldn’t be too sure of this information. It is just what I was told. I don’t think I will go to check if it is OK to steal if you are drunk.
Nightclubs- Free entry plus free drinks. I think this country promotes people to become alcoholics.

TEKO
Hey.
I have already spent 3 days in TEKO. The first impression of the school is amazing.
We were introduced the buildings yesterday. They have 4 buildings for different purposes. They have lot of equipment, for sewing, printing, knitting, testing the fabrics etc. It looks ideal place for studying fashion design.
My first day was relatively short. We were shown TEKO inside out. According to the international office TEKO is Scandinavian best and biggest design school for fashion and furniture.
Then we had a small lunch break (free sandwich from TEKO :) ) and little introduction how to use their Online Intranet system. There was a way to turn their page into English, but somehow clicking around it always went back to Danish. (Hint hint- study Danish?)
The second day we had a tour around Herning with 2 lovely girls.(TEKO students, Hungarian and Lithuanian)
The city is nice, but quite small.
Today we already had full- day studying. We had to get to university by 8.20. It is hard if you are used to go to university for 11 or earliest 9.
In the first class we had an introduction for our project. It looks like lots of fun with even more hard work. We also had introduction on theories how to create a target market and Designer DNA.
We are going to make our project in groups. Everyone seems very motivated and excited to start. It´s nice. Belgium girls in my group want to meet at 10.00 to go to town and make research etc. That is extreme activity, especially for me. I love my sleep in the mornings. On the other hand I wanted to get use to the early mornings anyway, so why not to start...NOW.
In the evening I went to Danish Language Centre. Yes, I am going to study Danish, 2x week. There is a small chance to be able to speak conversational level by end of the half year. I guess it is demands lot of effort and commitment. I go for it. Thumbs up!
Fact about Denmark/Herning I have found out in those 3 days:
People use bicycles. (instead of buses)
Bicycle lines are sometimes as wide as car lines.
If you work you can pay tax from as little as 8% up to 70%, depends how much you earn.
You need CPR number if you want to use anything in this place. (Buy a TV; go to a library, etc)
Boys wear jeans, trousers in their socks.
Weather changes all the time. (It is very windy here, so the sunny warm weather can turn into dark cold raining weather in minutes, vice versa)
